ASA play on 8* OVER 37.5 Washington Commanders at Chicago Bears, 8:20 PM ET - Who did Jeff Bezos piss off that he continues to get crappy Thursday Night showdowns? This game will at least feature some scoring unlike last week's Indy/Denver game. The number on this game opened at 40 and has since been bet down to 37.5 so in contrarian fashion we’ll grab the extra points of value and go Over the Total. Both offenses have struggled with Washington checking in at 5.3 Yards Per Play, while Chicago averages 5.5YPP. The Bears strength offensively is their running game which averages 157.4RYPG which is 5th best in the NFL. Washington is 14th in rushing yards allowed per game at 110.6 or slightly above league average. The Commanders are 10th in passing yards per game at 252.6PYPG while the Bears rank 9th best in passing yards allowed per game. Both teams have allowed 20 or more points in every game this season. Washington gave up 25-points to Dallas and 21 to Tennessee and both of those offenses averaged less than 19.3PPG on the season. Chicago has allowed every team they’ve faced this year to score more than that teams average PPG on the season. These two teams ranked 21st and 25th in points per game allowed last season with the Bears giving up 23.9PPG, Washington allowed 25.5PPG. Yes, scoring is down in the NFL this season but all we need here is an ‘average’ game (43.6PPG) and it goes Over the number. Over-correction by the oddsmakers!
