#304 ASA PLAY ON 8* Green Bay -5.5 over San Francisco, Saturday at 8:15 PM ET - This is a terrible spot for San Fran. It’s their 3rd straight road game and their games @ LA Rams and @ Dallas they were must win situations and both went down to the wire. While the Niners were expending all kinds of physical and mental energy to make sure their season stayed alive, the Packers were resting. GB’s starters played in the first half of their season finale @ Detroit and then sat the rest of the game and obviously last week as well. Add to that the 49ers will be on a short week (played Sunday now Saturday) and the temps in Green Bay on Saturday night will be 10 degrees or lower and this warm weather west coast team could have problems. The coldest game SF played in this year was @ Seattle where the temps were in the low 40’s. Big difference for them on Saturday night in GB. They are a bit banged up after the last 2 games including QB Garoppolo who has a bad hand AND bad shoulder. The freezing weather could really hinder his effectiveness. Their top DE Bosa is also questionable at best in concussion protocol. Meanwhile Green Bay is as healthy as they’ve been all season and could bet a number of key players back for this one including starting LT Bakhtiari, starting CB Alexander, and starting OLB Smith. When these two met in San Francisco earlier this season, the Packers squeaked out a 30-28 win but really dominated the stat sheet gaining 6 YPP while holding the Niners to only 4.6 YPP. Teams playing in the Divisional round when coming off an upset win the week before have been terrible investments – 6-30 SU and 13-23 ATS since 1998. Meanwhile Divisional home teams that were off the first week of the playoffs are 100-34 SU dating back to 1988. Packers win by at least a TD and move on to the NFC Championship game for the 3rd straight season.
