#255 ASA FREE PLAY ON Arizona -3 over Carolina, Sunday at 1:00 PM ET - We like the way this one sets up with Arizona coming if off a loss but winning the battle on the stats page while Carolina is coming off a win on the west coast despite getting destroyed in the stats. The Panthers picked up their first win @ LA Chargers last week but were outgained 436 to 302 and had 12 fewer first downs. They allowed rookie QB Herbert to light them up completing 71% of his passes for 330 yards. The problem for LA was they had 4 turnovers (0 for Carolina) which led to 13 of the Panthers 21 points. The Panthers get NO pressure on the QB as they rank last in the NFL in sacks per game at 0.7 and last in sack percentage at 1.72%. That’s going to kill them in this game vs Arizona QB Murray who is hard to sack to begin with. Murray is off a sub par outing vs Detroit but should bounce back with a huge day here. Arizona is off a last second 26-23 home loss vs the Lions. The Cards outgained Detroit by 55 yards and 0.8 YPP. Again the problem was turnovers. Arizona had 3 which led directly to 10 points while Detroit had 0. Let’s also not forget the Panthers will be playing this game without RB McCaffrey who accounted for 223 total yards in their first 2 games of the season before getting injured. Arizona MUCH more explosive on offense with QB Murray, RB Drake, and WR Hopkins. Arizona has already won on the road vs one of the NFL’s best (San Francisco) and that was when the Niners were healthy. Off a disappointing loss, we like the Cardinals to win and cover this one.
