Toronto vs. San Diego (Blue Jays ML)
(MLB) Toronto vs. San Diego,
Money Line: -110.00 Toronto (Away)
Result: Win
Don't look now, but the Blue Jays (5-1 in their last six) are warming up. They entered this series with consecutive series victories over Seattle, Colorado, and the NY Yankees, and got off on the right foot Friday vs. San Diego, winning 5-1. On Saturday, they'll turn to their ace, José Berríos, who is 3-0 with a 1.05 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in four starts (25.2 IP) this year. The right-hander is coming off a two-hit, no-run, seven-strikeout performance (7.0 IP) vs. the Rockies and faces a Padres lineup that's been all-or-nothing in 2024 (three or fewer runs scored in 9 of 22 games). Furthermore, Berríos was solid against San Diego in his lone outing last season (two runs with nine Ks in 6.0 IP).

With Yu Darvish on the injured list, the Padres will start Randy Vásquez, who will be making his San Diego debut. The club acquired the 25-year-old from the Yankees in the Juan Soto trade, but he started the season in Triple-A. He'll be making his sixth big league start of his career and isn't a great bet to give SD much length, as he's pitched past the fourth inning just twice.

At -110 odds, I'm rolling with the Blue Jays in America's Finest City.
