Aaron Rodgers is starting to look better as he finds his footing. The Jets have scored three touchdowns on offense in each game they have played this season and they haven't done that since 2004. Rodgers can beat this Patriots team if he throws the ball like Seattle did and the Jets should come out faster this time and get on the board early. There is a way for them to beat this Patriots team as the Pats will just run the ball at them. The Jets can get in front early and force the Pats to throw the ball as they don't do well playing from behind and Brisset hasn't been able to throw deep in games and they have no pass offense. The only reason why the Seahawks didn’t win by more than three points is that they took their foot off the pedal. This is a tough road spot for the Patriots as they come into this game off an overtime game and it being a short week for them means less practice. Teams in this scenario, off an overtime game on the road in a short week of four days are 3-21 against the spread. There are injuries on both sides but the Patriots are hurting on defense more as the Seahawks left their mark. They also have significant injuries on their offensive line too and it's not clear who will be in or out or 100% healthy. Rodgers is a much more experienced quarterback than Brisset, and he has the mental edge, the accuracy and timing. The Jets may be 0-6 on Thursday night football but Rodgers is 11-6 straight up on Thursday night football and they should break the cycle starting tonight. This is their home opener and the fans have waited over a year to see Rodgers so he should put on a show. That is why laying the points with the Jets makes sense. They can put together a similar scheme like Seattle did and can beat this team in the air. New England will struggle to keep up. This is a new Jets era on offense and they have the quarterback that can deliver. The Jets aren’t bad in September as they are 5-5 against the spread and 3-3 against the spread off a road win. The Patriots are 3-7 against the spread after a loss by 6 points or less and they are 3-5 against the spread when they are a road underdog of 7 points or less.
Best bet: lay the points with the Jets.
