There should be some offense in this preseason game as the Giants have a quarterback battle going on with the likes of Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock. Detroit’s starters won’t play but their offensive line second and third stringers put up the points last preseason and should do so again. Hendon Hooker is out to prove himself, as he proved in college that he can make the plays, but he’s battling Nate Sudfeld for second spot. There should be more offense emphasized in this game especially with the addition of WR Malik Nabers, who was drafted in the No. 6th spot, and has looked good in practice. Both sides have decent offensive depth. Both coaches have a preseason history of going over the total. Detroit is 12-4 to the Over in their last 16 preseason games while the Giants are 11-2 to the Over in their last 13 preseason games. This game last season was 21-16 and the total in this game is 34.5. This season, there should be a better effort from the Giants in this game, who have a lot to prove to their fans, to take this total over.
