Spain played their first game with no energy and came out of the gate flat, shooting below 40 percent from the field. They will have to have a better start against Greece because Greece is the better team with more talent. Giannis looked really good in his first game against Canada, scoring 34 points on 11 of 17 shooting from the field. He really started to pick up his scoring in the second half of that game and he looks like he’s ready to break out in this game against Spain. Spain struggled with their offense in their opener, shooting below 40 percent from the field, and they are going to face a team that has top NBA talent headed by Giannis. This game is a must win for both, as one of these teams could be eliminated without any wins under their belt so far. Greece should play this game with some urgency and need to come out with a fast start in this game, putting Spain on their heels. Greece almost had the win against Canada, before Shai Gilgeous hit that last shot. Greece was able to cover despite shooting just 39% from the field, and 28.1% from three. Spain does not have good defense and they are not an athletic team. Giannis will be able to expose their weaknesses and capitalize on them, and the team should shoot much better than the numbers they put up in their opener. Most might be expecting a closer game, but Greece has too much talent not to win and cover in this spot. They just have been underwhelming in their play up until now, but have had a chance to gel and should come out of their shell by having a really good shooting game; playing much better as a more cohesive unit.
