Chris Sale is on the mound for Atlanta, with an ERA of 2.91 and a WHIP of 0.935 and his ERA is 1.13 versus St. Louis with a WHIP of 0.688. He is going to have no problem handling the White Sox who have been hit and miss this season in their pitching and hitting all season and sit near the bottom of the league in all metrics. The White Sox are also off a double header and their bullpen is depleted. Thorpe has been terrible for the White Sox and will give up many runs to the Braves. Sale was great in his last two starts beating the Yankees and the Rays handily. He is the veteran pitcher in this matchup and will shut down the Chicago White Sox offense. Taking the extended runline also has good value.
