The Mets go up against Patrick Corbin who has been consistently bad all season. Even if he looks better in one game, he looks terrible in the next. He is untrustworthy in this spot to stop a sweep that is coming by New York. The Mets offense has awoken in this series and they are going to rough up Corbin in this one and runs will come early and often. Corbin is 4-20 straight up against division opponents in the past few seasons. The Nationals have regressed with their offense in this series and their bullpen hasn’t been great either. Batters are hitting .203 off of Severino and he has looked better in his recent starts. The Mets were struggling with left handed pitchers this season but they have improved in that area and are batting well now in this series. The Mets have done well on the road versus the Nationals in the past. The Mets are 12-6 straight up in their last 18 games when playing on the road against Washington. Washington is 2-5 in their last 7 games at home and they will lose another one in this spot.
