Minnesota played well against the Nuggets shooting 52.4% from the field and shooting 40.7% from the 3 point line. Even with those great numbers, McDaniels and Pope were the only ones that could have played a little better. They got 16 points from Naz Reid and the bench gave a total of 23 points. Denver, despite losing the game, they actually shot better at the 3 point line than they usually do when at home. They shot 41.9% from the 3, which is more than 37% their average. They also shot 46.7% from the field and 80% as a team at the free throw line. Jokic and Murray got their points and they did get 15 points from the bench. The only two players that could have played a little better were Pope and Gordon. Since both teams overshot what they usually shoot on average there could be a bit of regression from both sides which makes this second game an even closer fight. Minnesota has covered the spread in all of their last six games. Denver has only covered one game in their last six games played. Minnesota is 8-2 against the spread on the road in their last ten games. Overall, this series is going to be a close fought series against two good defensive teams so getting any points is where the value lies for bettors.
