Idaho State is coming into this game with a 1-2 record this season but they are coming off of a win in their last game after a rough start to the season. They started the season with 2 straight losses, but they were not awful in these losses against bigger schools. They lost on the road to Arizona State by 7 points in their 1st game of the season and they followed that up with a 6 point loss on the road to USC. They are coming off of a win in their last game which was at home against a team that does not play in Division I, but they won that game by 20+ points and it is going to give them confidence coming into this game. Their defense has also been better in their games as they have allowed 63 points or less in 2 of their 3 games. They are going up against a San Diego team that is 1-2 this season and they have not been playing well to start the season. Their only win this season came at home against Boston University by 14 points, but they have not had a very strong schedule to start the year. They opened the season with a home loss to Rider by 1 point and they are coming off of a loss in their last game against Portland State by 9 points at home. Their defense has not been as good in these games either as they have allowed 68+ points in 2 of their 3 games, allowing 85 points in their last game, and all 3 of these games have been at home as well. San Diego struggled last season as well and this is an improved Idaho State that has already been tested on the road in some closer games against stronger schools.
