The Texans are coming into this game with a 6-2 record this season and they have won 4 of their last 5 games. They are coming off of a 23-20 win against the Colts in their last game, but they have actually struggled more on the road this season. They have been perfect at home this year but they are only 2-2 on the road and have lost 2 of their last 3 road games as well. Their only win in that span was against the Patriots who have been awful this season while their 2 losses were against stronger teams in the Vikings and the Packers. They are going up against a Jets team that is only 2-6 this season, but this is no ordinary 2-6 team. The Jets started the season 2-1 but they have lost their last 5 straight games now. As bad as they have been in that span, only 1 of their 5 losses was a blowout while the other 4 losses were all within 6 points. They are coming off of a brutal 25-22 loss to the Patriots in their last game, but even in that game the defense played well as they did not allow 250+ total yards in the game and their kicker also missed quite a few points that could have won them that game. The Jets are going to have a new kicker for this game so that will not be as big a problem in this game, and the Texans also have some key players missing which will be a factor here. The Texans are missing their top 2 WRs Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs and that is a big blow. They are going to be more focused on running the ball in this game with Mixon since they are missing their 2 best playmakers, but the Jets defense has been very good this season and will focus on stopping the run in this game with the lack of weapons in the passing game. The Texans have not been great on run defense this season either so the Jets will also be focused on running the ball with Hall, but they also have Adams and Wilson to worry about in the passing game so this Texans defense will not be able to cover everyone. The Jets are going to have guys more open in this game which will help them move the ball better, and they have the advantage being at home with the short week as the Texans have less time to prepare. This is also the season for the Jets so they are going to be desperate to win this game at home, especially after losing 5 straight games, the hunger is there for this team. The Jets will win this game.
