The Ducks are coming into this game off of a 2-1 loss against the Rangers in their game on Saturday and they have been playing in some lower scoring games recently. They have gone under 6.5 goals in their last 3 straight as well as 5 of their 7 games this season. Their offense has not been great recently as they have only scored 5 goals in their last 3 games, averaging less than 2 goals scored per game in that span, but their defense has been much better recently as they have allowed just 3 goals in their last 2 games. They played a good defensive game in their 2-1 loss to the Rangers and they have actually been trending to the under more on the road this season, going under 6.5 goals in 3 of their 4 road games this year. They are going up against a Devils team that has not been trending to the under in their recent matches. They have gone over 6.5 goals in their last 4 straight games, but they have also been awful in that span. They have lost their last 4 straight games after a very hot start to the season and their defense has not been as good in these games. They are coming off of a close 4-3 loss at home in OT against the Islanders in their last game as well so they are going to be hungry to bounce back in this game. They started the season playing very well and a lot of their success came from their good defense so they will be looking to play much better on defense in this game to bounce back and get back to that beginning of the season form. The Ducks do not have a strong offense that has been scoring a lot of goals recently anyway and they are one of the weaker teams in the league so this is a nice game for the Devils to bounce back in at home with a better defensive performance. The Ducks have also been better on defense though and they will play a similar style which almost got them a win in New York against the Rangers last night. This will be a low scoring and defensive match that stays under 6.5 goals.
