The Jets are coming into this game with a 2-4 record this season and they have lost their last 3 straight games. Their losing streak started the week before they went to London, losing at home to the Broncos 10-9, then they went to London and lost to the Vikings 23-17, and now they have followed that up with a 23-20 loss to the Bills at home in their last game. They have been playing in close games due to their defense being so good, but the offense has underperformed all season. Now the Jets have brought in Davante Adams to give Aaron Rodgers a boost in this offense, but he is not going to make a big difference against this Steelers defense. He was also traded right after their game on Monday night so they are on a shorter week here with less time to prepare. They are going up against a Steelers team that is 4-2 this season. They are coming off of a 32-13 win on the road against the Raiders in their last game and their defense has been one of the better ones in the league all year. They have only allowed 20+ points in 2 of their 6 games this season, allowing just 13 points or less in the other 4 games. Russell Wilson will likely be getting his 1st start of the season here and that is going to help this Steelers offense that has been struggling to push the ball downfield in games. This also makes the job for the Jets defense much harder in this game because they need to gameplan for Wilson as the starter, but they also need to be prepared for the possibility that Justin Fields gets thrown in the game and he is a completely different style of quarterback which makes preparing for the Steelers offense very difficult for the Jets defense on a shorter week. The Steelers also ran the ball very well in their last game with Najee Harris while the Jets defense struggled to stop the run against a backup running back for the Bills. The Steelers have the better defense here as well as the preparation advantage with their quarterback situation and Tomlin is going to have his team motivated for this game since they did lose at home on Sunday night just 2 weeks ago.
