Point Spread: 1.50 | -110.00 Lions (DET) (Away)
Result: Win
The Lions are coming into this game with a 4-1 record this season and they have been playing very well in their recent games. They have won their last 3 straight games since taking their only loss of the season and their offense has been on fire, scoring 40 points in each of their last 2 games. They went into their bye beating the Seahawks at home 42-29, and they used that bye week to tighten up their defense as they came out and beat the Cowboys on the road 47-9 in their last game. They are going up against a Vikings team that is 5-0 this season and is coming off of their bye after playing their last game in London. They beat the Jets 23-17 in their last game and beat the Packers 31-29 the week before that, but their offense has actually stalled in both of those games. They came out very quick in each game but once their opponent made adjustments, this Vikings offense struggled a lot. They were held to just 3 points in the 2nd half against the Packers, allowing them to make a 2nd half comeback in that game, and they were also held to just 6 points in the 2nd half against the Jets, once again almost allowing the Jets to come back and win with the final drive. The Lions defense has been improving in each week and they have been forcing a lot of turnovers as well. The Vikings also struggled to run the ball in their last game without Aaron Jones and he is questionable to return in this game, but he will not get a full work load while dealing with a soft tissue injury. Without a strong run game, the Vikings struggled on offense with only 23 points scored in their last game and got shut down in the 2nd half as well. The Lions have been a very tough team to run against all season as well so Sam Darnold is going to struggle to beat this Lions secondary. The Lions offense also has a very strong run game with their 2 RBs and the Vikings have not really faced a strong running back this season other than Jordan Mason who tore them up for 100 yards on the ground and allowed Purdy to throw for 300+ yards against this defense as well. The Lions have the run game and the weapons on offense to score in this game. The Lions will cover the spread in this game.
