They got blanked by the Dodgers in the 1st game but they scored 7 runs in the last game and have scored 6+ runs in 4 of their last 6 games. Their pitching has also been good though as they have allowed 3 runs or less in 3 of their last 4 games as well. Luis Severino is starting for the Mets in this game and he is 11-7 with a 3.91 ERA this season. He struggled more in his 2 playoff starts, allowing 3 earned runs in each start, but both of those games were on the road as well, 1 being in Milwaukee and 1 being in Philadelphia. This is his 1st playoff start at home this season and he has been pitching much better at home near the end of the season. He allowed 3 earned runs in his last home start, but prior to that he only allowed 2 earned runs total in 3 straight starts at home, pitching at least 6 innings in each of those as well. The Mets also won 3 of those 4 home starts for Severino so they have been getting up for him with some run support and will do the same here as they did in their 2 playoff games with him starting as well. Walker Buehler is starting for the Dodgers in this game and he is 1-6 with a 5.38 ERA this season. He has dealt with injury trouble all season which has kept him out for periods of time, and he struggled to get in a rhythm and even allowed at least 4 earned runs in 2 of his last 4 starts of the regular season. He has only made 1 start in these playoffs and he was not good, allowing 6 earned runs in a 6-5 loss to the Padres. He pitched 5 innings in that game, allowing 6 earned runs, 7 hits, and had no strikeouts as well. The Mets are going to get to Buehler for some runs in this game and their offense will be able to carry them to another win as they push to get ahead of this series. The Mets will win this game at home.
