They were not great last season in their FBS debut, but they also underperformed and now they are playing much better this year with a real chance to end up in the Conference USA Championship. They have won their last 4 straight games and their offense has been on fire in these games, scoring 31+ points in all 4 games, but their defense has also been very good. They beat Texas State in a neutral location 40-39, but their other 2 home games which were actually played at home only saw them allow 13 points or less in each. Sam Houston will be very effective on the ground here and that is going to open up their passing game as well.
