The Canucks are coming into this game with a 0-0-2 record this season and they have been playing in some tight games. They lost their 1st game of the season at home to the Flames, losing 6-5 in OT after taking a 4-1 lead in the game, and they followed that up with another home loss in their last game, losing 3-2 to the Flyers in a shootout, once again blowing a 2-1 lead in the game. The Canucks were one of the better teams in the NHL last season and they still have a lot of quality on their team. They played 2 very close games in their 2 losses this season and they are going to be hungry to bounce back in this game and get their 1st win of the season. They are going up against a Lightning team that is 1-0-0 this season as they are coming off of a 4-1 road win against the Hurricanes in their only win this season. The Lightning have been a consistent team in the NHL the last few seasons, but they have also been on the decline since their dynasty and their team lacks a lot of quality this year. They have a very good 1st line but the 2nd line is not nearly as good and the talent just drops off from there as well. The Canucks have a lot of scoring power as they have scored 7 goals in their 2 games so far and this is not a game that the Lightning will be able to keep them out. The Canucks will also be more focused on their defense here after blowing leads in each of their losses and being on the road for the 1st time this season. The Canucks will win this game.
