AMEDEUS' MLB GOLD STRIKE!
(MLB) Phillies (PHI) vs. Mets (NYM),
Money Line: -110.00 Mets (NYM) (Home)
Result: Win
The Phillies are coming into this game down 2-1 in the series after a 7-2 loss to the Mets on Tuesday and their pitching has been awful in this series. They have allowed at least 6 runs in all 3 games of this series against the Mets, including the 1 game they won as well, and this poor pitching goes back to the end of the regular season as well, allowing at least 6 runs in 7 of their last 8 games. They are going up against a Mets team that is up 2-1 in the series and they are going to be pushing to win this game and close out the series at home. Their offense has been on fire as they have scored at least 6 runs in all 3 games of this series and in 4 of their 6 playoff games this year, but their pitching has also been much better as they have allowed just 2 runs or less in 2 of the 3 games in this series and in 3 of their last 4 games as well. Jose Quintana is starting for the Mets in this game and he is 10-10 with a 3.75 ERA this season. He pitched in the Wild Card Series against the Brewers and he delivered 6 scoreless innings in that game 3 elimination game. He also ended the regular season allowing just 2 earned runs total in all 4 of his September starts, including 7 scoreless innings against the Phillies. Quintana is going to keep up that trend of good pitching for the Mets and he has a very hot offense to back him up right now. Ranger Suárez is starting for the Phillies in this game and he is 12-8 with a 3.46 ERA this season. He has not been pitching well in his recent starts though. He ended the regular season allowing 6 earned runs in 2 innings against the Nationals and he has allowed 15 earned runs in 17 innings pitched in his last 4 starts. He has also been allowing more hits in those starts while not striking as many batters out and the Mets will make him pay for that with the way they have been hitting. Quintana has been the better starter recently and the Mets have been the much hotter team recently. The Mets will win this game at home.
