AMEDEUS' CFB PIGSKIN POUNDER!
(NCAAF) Trojans (USC) vs. Wolverines (MICH),
Point Spread: -4.00 | -110.00 Trojans (USC) (Away)
Result: Loss
USC is coming into this game with a 2-0 record this season and they already have a quality win. They won their 1st game of the season against LSU 27-20 and now they are coming off of a 48-0 win against Utah State in their last game. This is going to be their 1st conference game in the Big 10 and it is a bit of a travel for them, but they have also had 2 weeks to prepare since they were on their bye week last week. They are going up against a Michigan team that is 2-1 this season, but this team is just a shell of what it was last season when they won the National Championship. They already have a loss at home this season to Texas who beat them soundly in their own house, losing 31-12. Their offense has struggled a lot more with all of the players gone to the NFL, but their defense has really taken a hit as they are nowhere near as good as they were last season. They have already allowed 10 points to Fresno State and 18 points to Arkansas State which never would have happened last season, and both of those games were at home as well. Their pass defense just has not been as good this season, averaging 234.3 passing yards per game and allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete 62.1% of their passes. They still have a good run defense as they only allow 70 rushing yards per game, but USC averages 336.5 passing yards per game with a quarterback who is completing 72.7% of his passes on the season. USC is going to be able to attack this Michigan defense with their passing game and that will open up the run game for them as the game goes on. USC has also improved their defense a lot from last season and they are only averaging 100 rushing yards allowed per game which will be a big part of Michigan's game plan. Michigan only averages 153 passing yards per game as they are not a pass heavy team so if USC pulls away in this game, Michigan will not be effective enough in the passing game to make a comeback, just like how they lost to Texas at home. USC is a much improved team this season on both sides of the ball and they will want to make a grande entrance to the Big 10 in this game. USC will cover the spread in this game.
