The Braves are coming into this game with a 41-31 record this season and they have been playing well in their recent games. They have won their last 3 straight games as they just swept the Tigers in their last series, but they have still been struggling a lot over the last 2 weeks and they have been much worse on the road this year with a losing 17-18 record. They are going up against a Yankees team that is 51-26 this season and they are going to be hungry to bounce back here. They just lost 2 of their 3 games against the Orioles in their last series which has moved them closer in the standings, and the Yankees are going to be hungry to respond after losing 17-5 yesterday. Carlos Rodón is starting for the Yankees here and he is 9-3 with a 3.28 ERA this season. He is going to give his team a great chance to bounce back here since he has been very consistent all season. He has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 2 of his last 3 starts, he allowed 5 earned runs in his last start against the Red Sox but he will be hungry to bounce back with a better performance. He has been much better at home this season as well as he has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in any of his 5 home starts. The Yankees also get up for him with lots of runs as they have scored at least 7 runs in 4 of his last 6 starts. Chris Sale is starting for the Braves here and he is 9-2 with a 2.98 ERA this season. He has been consistent this season and was great in the month of May, but he is also in the later stages of his career and has been starting to unravel in his recent June starts. He opened up June by allowing 8 earned runs against the A's and he has followed up by allowing at least 2 earned runs in each of his last 2 starts since then. Those starts were against the Nationals and the Rays who both have one of the worst offenses in the league right now. Sale is going to have a much harder time keeping this Yankees offense off the board as they are one of the best in the league right now. Sale has also struggled in his last few starts against the Yankees going back to his days on the Red Sox so this is a great spot for the Yankees to bounce back after that blowout loss. The Yankees will win this game at home.
