AMEDEUS' MLB GOLD STRIKE!
(MLB) Philadelphia vs. Boston,
Money Line: -119.00 Philadelphia (Away)
Result: Loss
The Phillies are coming into this game with a 46-20 record this season and they have been on fire in their recent games. They have won 5 of their last 6 games and they are coming off of a series that they just played in England over the weekend, but that travel did not stop them from winning again last night, beating the Red Sox 4-1 in the series opener. They are going up against a Red Sox team that is 33-34 this season and has actually been worse at home, going 14-19 there. They have also lost 3 of their last 4 games with 2 of those losses coming against the White Sox who have one of the worst records in the league right now. Cristopher Sánchez is starting for the Phillies in this game and he is 3-3 with a 2.71 ERA this season. He has been great in his recent starts as he has not allowed more than 1 earned run in each of his last 3 starts as well as 4 of his last 6 starts, including just 1 earned run total allowed in a little over 11 innings pitched in his last 2 road starts. Nick Pivetta is starting for the Red Sox in this game and he is 3-4 with a 3.40 ERA this season. He is coming off of a good start which he allowed no runs in 7 innings, but prior to that last start, he allowed 7 earned runs total in a little over 8 innings pitched between his last 2 starts. He has not been as consistent as Sanchez has been this season and Pivetta has not been going deep into many of his starts either. The Phillies have one of the better offenses in the league right now and they have been hot with the runs they are scoring, they are going to score runs on Pivetta and the Red Sox bullpen which has not been great. The Phillies are going to win this game.
