UMass is coming into this game with the advantage of having already played a game in week 0. Not only did they play in week 0, but they looked very good in their game as they went on the road and beat New Mexico State, scoring over 40 points in the game. UMass has improved a lot from their awful season last year and they also have a very good QB who can lead this offense. They are going up against an Auburn team that has not been great over the last few years and now they are rebuilding their program with a new head coach in Hugh Freeze. Hugh Freeze is a very good coach but this is still their 1st game of the season with a new head coach and they are not going to be ready to go in this very 1st game with a blowout win, especially against a team that already has a road win under their belt with a very good performance. UMass is going to move the ball on offense here and score some points in this game while this new high flying offense under Freeze will not be fully polished yet so this is simply too many points for them to cover in this 1st game of the year. UMass will cover the spread in this game.
