NCAAF - Nebraska @ Rutgers
(NCAAF) Nebraska vs. Rutgers,
Point Spread: -3.00 | -109.00 Nebraska (Away)
Result: Loss
It can be said that Nebraska is beatable through the air, but Rutgers are not prominent in the passing game. Nebraska is actually a good defensive team and though they are on the road, I see this being a low scoring dog fight that still displays dominance by the CornHuskers. Avoid looking at the averages from the season so far, given that Nebraska has played much better competition than Rutgers (Oklahoma destroyed Nebraska) so the numbers are scewed in favor of Rutgers and that's probably entrenched into the odds for this matchup. Rutgers just doesn't put up enough points per night to label them an offensive threat, and without that scare factor this Nebraska defense will be able to hold them to under 25 points while Nebraskas offense has been more explosive in both the pass and the run game with Anthony Grant rushing for 130+ yards in 4 of the 5 games this season and Trey Palmer carving out 80+ yards recieving through the air 3 of 5 times so far. The balance on the offensive side, and the steadiness of the defense will win the game for Nebraska.
