Result: Loss
The Miami Marlins are surprisingly in second place in the NL East behind the Braves. They will look to make up some ground by taking on one of the best teams this season the Tampa Bay Rays. Miami has struggled since the break going just 1-8. They are 0-9 in their past nine road games and 2-7 in their last nine against a team with a winning record. Sandy Alcantara will take the mound for Miami. He has been struggling all season. He is just 3-9 4.70 ERA. In his past four starts, he is 0-3 and has allowed 11 earned runs in 23.2 innings. Tampa Bay Rays have been struggling also. They are 3-7 in their past 10 overall games and just 2-8 in their last 10 home. Zach Elfin will look to right the ship for the Rays. He is 11-5 with a 3.36 ERA. In his last 5 starts, he is 3-2 but has allowed two or fewer earned runs in four of those five starts. The Rays are 9-1 in the last 10 head-to-head matchups. and have won seven straight. The Rays have an advantage on the mound even with Alcantara going for the Marlins as he has struggled all season. I look for the Rays' offense to put up enough runs to get a much-needed win.
