The Houston Astros took game one of their three-game series against AL West rival the Los Angeles Angels. Houston lost three of four at home to Seattle before the break but came out of the break with a win. Framber Valdez will look to build on the momentum from yesterday's win when he takes the mound. He is 7-6 with a 2.51 ERA, a 1.054 WHIP this season. He has gone 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP in his last three starts. Los Angeles has lost nine of their last 10 games, including five in a row. Reid Detmers will look to turn things around for the Angels. He is just 2-6 with a 4.31 ERA and a 1.284 WHIP. over is last three, he is 1-1 with a 5.51 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP. The Angels have been hit hard by injuries. Detmers was pounded by the Dodgers last time out. The Angels have a depleted lineup and with Detmers struggling, I like the Astros to win thier second in a row in this series.
