The Texas Rangers take on the Chicago White Sox in what should be a great pitching matchup, at least on paper. Nathan Eovaldi goes for the Rangers against Dylan Cease for the Sox. Eovaldi is 9-3 this season with a 2.59 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. Texas ranks in the top five in most offensive categories. Dylan Cease has not been as dominant this season as he has over the last couple of years. He is 3-3 with a 4.31 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP. Chicago's offense has been in the bottom half of most major categories.
Cease has pitched better at home than on the road, but Eovaldi has pitched better on the road. Evoldi has posted a road ERA under two. The Rangers have the advantage in every facet of the game. The offense is vastly better, they have an edge in starting pitching and even though the Rangers pen has been inconsistent, the Sox pen has been decimated by injuries and has been terrible over the last week or two. texas should be able to outscore the Sox in this one and come away with a win.
