The New York Mets have taken the first two games of a four-game set with the Washington Nationals. The Mets will go with Chris Bassitt on the mound. He was acquired from Oakland, where he was 12-4 with a 3.15 ERA last season. The Nationals will go with Joan Adon on the mound. He is Washington's No. 22 prospect and could struggle against this Mets lineup. New York is 7-3 in its last 10 games against Washington.

Bassitt went 8-1 in 16 starts on the road last season. The Nat's offense in Juan Soto and not much else as they gutted the team at the trade deadline last season. Adon doesn't have a lot of experience and the Nat's pen is one of the worst in the Majors. The Nats are going to struggle to score runs and will find it difficult to keep the Mets off the board today.
