The Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis on Sunday in an intriguing matchup. The Seattle Seahawks won 12 games last season and they are looking to make the playoffs for the ninth time in the last ten years. After a little drama in the off-season, Russell Wilson returns under center for the Seahawks. He does have weapons to get the ball to in the form of receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Chris Carson returns at running back, he is not flashy but has gone over 1000 yards in two of the three past seasons. The Seahawks could have their best defense since the Legion of Boom era and a Super Bowl appearance.
The Indianapolis Colts had a nice season last year, winning 11 games and they will be trying to get to back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since the 2013-14 season. They will have to do it with a new quarterback under center as Phillip Rivers has retired as is replaced by Carson Wents. Jonathan Taylor leads the rushing attack after gaining over 1,000 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns as a rookie. Wentz will be without a main weapon, as a T.Y. Hilton is out with an injury. The Colt's defense should be solid if not spectacular.
The Seahawks are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Colts are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog.
The Colts have a solid offensive line, running game, and defense, the only question mark and it is a big one is at quarterback. Seattle has that question answered in Wilson and the Seahawks have more weapons on offense. All things being equal I will take Wison over Wentz.
