The Detroit Tigers take on the St. Louis Cardinals in the second game of a two-game set. Yesterday the Tigers held on for a one-run win. Starter Casey Mize didn't allow a run in 5.0 innings of work. The Tigers will send Tarik Skubal to the mound. This season, he has posted a 4.02 ERA in 123 innings with 134 strikeouts and 41 walks. The Cardinals need a win after dropping two of three to the Pirates over the weekend and then losing to the Tigers. The Cardinals will counter with Jon Lester on the mound. He has posted a 4-6 record 5.46 ERA with 59 strikeouts.

The Tigers have been playing well and are facing John Lester who has been up and down as of late. Skubal has allowed just two earned on 16 hits and two walks in 17.2 innings over three starts. You can't back Lester at this point and the Tigers are playing better of the two teams.
