The Texas Rangers are looking to avoid a sweep after losing the first three games of a four-game set against the Detroit Tigers. The Rangers did slightly better yesterday, getting five hits and scoring twice but it wasn't enough. Jordan Lyles had a decent outing, going 7.0 innings and allowing six hits and four earned runs. They will try to avoid a sweep by sending out Mike Foltynewicz for the start. He has posted a 5.91 ERA in 102.0 innings with 73 strikeouts and 23 walks.

Detroit has been playing some really good baseball lately and will look for a sweep today. yesterday, they got a nice start from Matt Manning who went 6.0 innings with one earned and four hits. The Tigers will send Tyler Alexander to the mound to start the scene. This season, he has posted a 4.40 ERA in 43.0 innings with 37 strikeouts and 10 walks.

Alexander has given up three earned runs in 10.2 innings. Foltynewicz gave up 10 earned in just 1.2 innings on eight hits in his last outing against the Blue Jays. In his last three starts, he has gone 15 innings and has given up 17 runs. Detroit has been hitting the ball well and should be able to score some runs today,
