The Kansas City Royals took Game 1 of a two-game set over the Milwaukee Brewers. KC was on a two-game losing steak after dropping the last two of a three-game set against the Baltimore Orioles. Mike Minor had a nice outing on Tuesday, going 6.0 innings and allowing five hits and one earned run. The Royals will turn to Brad Keller to face the Brewers. So far this season he has posted a 5.97 ERA with 83 strikeouts and 48 walks in 95.0 innings.
The Brewers came into yesterday's riding a three-game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds and took an early lead against the Royals. They were unable to maintain the lead and ended up losing the game 5-2. Brett Anderson went 5.0 innings allowing just three hits and two earned runs. The Brewers will turn to Eric Lauer for today's start. He is just 3-4 this season with a 3.83 ERA.
Brad Keller over his last two starts, has gone 14.0 innings with nine hits and three earned runs. The Royals have won any of Keller's last seven starts. Lauer has made four starts during the day and has posted a 2-0 record a 1.86 ERA. Milwaukee has won their last nine games by at least two runs or more.
