THE PROFESSOR’S MLB UPPER-DECK BLOWOUT
(MLB) Texas vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -102.00 Detroit (Home)
Result: Win
The Texas Rangers had an uneventful weekend as they were swept by the Toronto Blue Jays. They were shut out in both games of a doubleheader yesterday, being outscored by a combined 15-0. The Rangers will need to get their offense going and they are looking to Kyle Gibson to slow down the Tiger's bats. He has posted a 6-1 record this season with a 2.29 ERA and 88 strikeouts. Against the Tigers in his career, he is 10-10 with a 5.51 ERA and 110 strikeouts.

The Detroit Tigers will look to continue their momentum after beating the Minnesota Twins 7-0 on Sunday. Wily Peralta went seven shutout innings in the win. They will look to get the same kind of outing from Casey Mize in today's start. Mize has posted a 5-5 record this season with a 3.59 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season.

Texas is 2-12 in their last 14 games as a road favorite. Detroit is 5-0 in their last 5 home games. Gibson has pitched well this season but has struggled against the Tigers in his career. The last time he faced the Tigers, he gave up five runs Mize has given up three earned runs or fewer in 13 consecutive starts. Mize should be able to handle the Rangers bats and I like the Tigers to get the win.

Play on Detroit.
