MLB AFTERNOON DELIGHT
(MLB) Milwaukee vs. Cincinnati,
Money Line: -130.00 Milwaukee (Away)
Result: Win
Money Line: -130.00 Milwaukee (Away)
Result: Win
The Milwaukee Brewers just kept coming back against the Reds yesterday and finally came away with a 7-4 win in extra innings. Brandon Woodruff went 5.2 innings with just one run on two hits and he struck out 8 but got nothing to show for it. The Brewers will look for a sweep by sending Corbin Burnes to the mound. He has posted a 4-4 record with a 2.36 ERA and 128 strikeouts this season. He has gone 0-0 and posted a 2.81 ERS in 10 appearances against the reds but has never made a start against them in his career.
The Cincinnati Reds took an early lead, gave it up, tied it late only to lose in extra innings. Luis Castillo gave the Reds the start they needed, going six innings allowing no runs and five hits, and 8 strikeouts. The Reds will look to bounce back by sending Sonny Gray to the mound. He has posted a 2-4 record with a 3.19 ERA and 80 strikeouts. He has gone 3-2 with a 2.56 ERA and 79 strikeouts in his career against the Brewers.
Milwaukee is 14-6 in their last 20 games overall while Cincinnati is 9-2 in their last 11 division games and 9-3 in their last 12 games overall. e the under is 5-0 in their last 5 Sunday games. A sweep here could be huge for the Brewers as it allows them, with the win yesterday, to put some more distance between them and the Reds in the NL Central. The reds may be without Castellanos in this one and that does not bode well for the reds going against one of the better pitchers this season. Gray is returning from the injured list to make his first start in several weeks.
Play on Milwaukee.
