The Chicago White Sox are coming off a tough 2-1 loss to Houston last night. Carlos Rodon had another solid effort, giving up just one run on three hits while striking out eight over seven innings of work. They will hope to score more runs today behind Lance Lynn. Lynn is 7-2 this season with a 1.51 ERA and 80 strikeouts this season. Against Houston, he is 5-6 with a 3.94 ERA and 92 strikeouts.
The Houston Astros didn't score a lot yesterday against the White Sox but did score enough to win the game. Luis Garcia gave up one run on seven hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings. Framber Valdez will look to duplicate that when he takes the mound for today's;s start. So far this season, he has posted a 3-0 record with a 1.42 ERA and 24 strikeouts.

Both pitchers have pitched really well this season. Both offenses have the potential to score a ton of runs but as we saw last night they can succumb to good pitching. I think both pitchers will pitch well today and looking for another very close game that stays under the number.
