The Cleveland Indians look to shake off their 3-2 loss to the Tigers on opening day. The Indians waited until the ninth inning to put anything on the board against the Tigers pitchers. The Indians mustered just six hits in the loss. Shane Bieber took the loss, giving up all three runs on five hits while striking out 12 over six innings of work. The Indians will start Zach Plesac in today's game. He was was 4-2 with a 2.28 ERA with 57 strikeouts last season. In his career against the Tigers, he is is 2-0 with a 0.51 ERA and 14 strikeouts against Detroit.

The Detroit Tigers got a two-run homer from Miguel Cabrera in the first and held on to a 3-2 win. Matt Boyd went 5.2 shutout innings, allowing just three hits. Julio Teheran gets the nod today. He was 0-4 with a 10.05 ERA and 20 strikeouts for the Angels last season. This will be Teheran’s second career start against Cleveland.

Cleveland's bats were quiet in game one of this series and the Tigers didn't do much either. Plesac has owned the Tigers and I see that trend continuing today. Tehran will be the key in this game and I look for him to pitch well early and then hope the Pens don't blow it late.
