Coastal Carolina will look to improve on last season [erformance that saw them go 5-7 overall and 2-6 in the 2-6 in the Sun Belt Conference. They finished in last place in the East Division and did not play in a bowl game. Coastal Carolina started the season strong and got out to a 3-1 start including a 12-7 win over Kansas in week 2. They lost 6 of the next 7 and came away with a win in their last game 24-21 win over Texas State in their last game. the defense will need to improve on the defensive side of the ball, where they gave up 28 points or more in each of their losses.
As bad as Coastal Carolina was the Jayhawks were worse. The Jayhawks finished 3-9 overall and just 1-8 in the Big 12 and last in the conference. They lost eight of their last nine games last season allowed 29 or more points in each of those games. Kansas had no spring practice and will need to come together under second-year coach Les Miles if they hope to improve on last season.
The Chanticleers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven non-conference games and 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games on turf. Kansas is 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 non-conference games. Kansas is 5-17 ATS in their last 22 games as a favorite.
This should be a close game as it was last year. Coastal Carolina won last season and there is no reason why they can't win this one as well. Since this looks like a coin flip game - take the points with Coastal Carolina.
