This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the UNDER Dodgers/Diamondbacks.
Both teams have been playing to several higher-scoring games of late, but I'm expecting those trends to end this evening.
LA has come in having seen the total go OVER the number in ten straight, while Arizona has seen the total go OVER in four of its last five, including its 12-6 win at Colorado last night.
LA has a magic number of just two to clinch the division and it hands the ball to Tyler Anderson (14-3, 2.73 ERA), who is 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA in two starts vs. Arizona this season.
The Diamondbacks counter with Ryne Nelson (1-0, 0.00 ERA), who makes his second career start. Nelson held the Padres scorless over seven frames, striking out seven and walking none in his debut. Clearly, this is a stiff test, but he benefits from throwing at home.
Regression is likely in order for Nelson here, but look for the rookie to make it into the mid innings and expect Anderson to go deep.
When you add it all up, this number is high in my opinion.
