(NHL) Edmonton vs. Tampa Bay,
Total: 6.50 | 100.00 Under
Result: Loss
Total: 6.50 | 100.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is a 10* TOP TOTAL on the UNDER Oilers/Lightning.
Edmonton is 14-8-3 on the road. The Oilers average 3.30 goals per game, but the issue this year unfortunately for Edmonton fans has come in net and on the defensive end. The Oilers are allowing 3.22 goals per game.
The Lightning are 16-4-1 at home this year. They're coming off a 6-3 blowout win at New Jersey.
Ater playing to four straight UNDERS, the Bolts have now seen the total go OVER in two straight.
Overall Tampa averages 3.41 goals per game, and while it's not as good as it was last year on the defensive end, it's still pretty good It's ranked ninth overall in allowing an average of 2.76 goals per game.
Tampa has a game at Nashville up next, while Edmonton will continue its road trip with tough upcoming games at Florida and Carolina still to come.
The defensive numbers just aren't there for the Oilers, but I still think that Edmonton has to be focussed on getting things fixed on that end of the ice as we come down the home stretch of the regular season, and especially over this stretch of really difficult games.
And the Lightning can play either style. Either up tempo, or a grind it out defensive affair, and that's what I'm expecting here.
I think the Oilers show up on the defensive end finally.
The play is the UNDER.
Good luck, NP
