This is a 10* TOP TOTAL on the OVER Penguins/Oilers.

These are two of the better teams in their respective conferences.

Neither will be lacking for motivation here. The Penguins are looking to bounce back from a low-scoring 2-1 shootout loss at Calgary.

Previous to that the Penguins lost 6-3 at home to Montreal, so off the back-to-back losses, Pittsburgh will definitely be cautious here in not falling behind the high-flying Oilers.

Pittsburgh averages 2.82 goals per game, which is only in the middle of the pack, but Edmonton averages 3.75 goals per game, which ranks second in the league.

The Oilers haven't been nearly as good on the defensive end though, as they allow 2.95 goals per game, which ranks in the bottom half.

The Oilers have also been trading low-scoring games with high-scoring ones over their last six outings, so off a 3-2 win at Vegas in their last contest, I think this pattern continues here.

One last strong over/under trend to consider and to strengthen this sees the Penguins having seen the total go OVER the number in eight of their last ten off an OVERTIME or SHOOTOUT road loss in which they were held to one or less goals in.

Expect a wide-open, faster-paced OVER once this one is all said and done.
