Total: 5.50 | -120.00 Over
Result: Loss
Total: 5.50 | -120.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 10* TOP FRIDAY TOTAL on the OVER Flyers/Canes.
Philly is 6-3-1 so far this year. It's right in the middle of the pack in scoring by averaging 2.91 goals per game. That's 16th.
It's been better defensively, allowing 2.45 goals per game, which is ranked fifth.
The Flyers have been alternating good games with bad (and wins and losses) over their last six games. Off of a humbling 3-0 loss at home to the Leafs on Monday night, I think they'll respond here against the 10-1 Panthers with a much better offensive effort.
And now this Philadelphia defense has to contend with this Hurricanes offense that averages 3.73 goals per game, which is ranked third overall.
Carolina is No. 1 in the league on the defensive end so far, it's conceding only 1.91 goals per game, but off a tight 2-1 over time win at Tampa Bay on November 9th, I think we'll see a much more wide open game here against the Flyers.
The Hurricanes won't be taking this one lightly either with the Blues coming to town on Saturday.
Previous to their overtime win over the defending champs, the Hurricanes had seen the total go OVER in two straight and I expect that high-scoring trend to continue here.
This number is low, the play is the OVER.
Good luck, NP
