This is a 10* CONFERENCE USA TOTAL OF THE YEAR on the OVER UAB/Southern Miss.

The Blazers are coming off a 31-14 win over FAU as 3.5-point favorites last weekend.

The Golden Eagles are off a 26-13 loss to UTEP as 1.5-point underdogs. Southern Miss won't be lacking for motivation here though as it looks to get back on track, as it's also just 3-7 the last ten in this series overall.

UAB averages 24.5 PPG, while conceding 22.2. I think that Dylan Hopkins though will have opportunties against this suspect Golden Eagles secondary. Hopkins has 826 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Southern Miss only averages 16.5 PPG, while conceding 27.5. Jake Lange has 543 passing yards, three TD's and four INT's, while Frank Gore Jr. lead the team in rushing with 403 yards and a TD.

It's interesting to note though that the Golden Eagles have seen the total go OVER the number in eight of their last ten off a straight-up/against-the-spread loss in which it was held to 14 or less points in.

I expect a wide open affair, rather than a "chess match."
