10* THURSDAY GAME OF THE WEEK (HUGE!)
(NFL) Jacksonville vs. Cincinnati,
Point Spread: 8.00 | -110.00 Jacksonville (Away)
Result: Win
Point Spread: 8.00 | -110.00 Jacksonville (Away)
Result: Win
This is a 10* GAME OF THE WEEK on the Jaguars.
No matter how good you are in College, there's going to be a transition period for almost every player into the NFL.
Is it a reasonable expectation to believe an athlete that dominated in College, should instantly also dominate in the NFL? Of all sports, I'd argue that the NFL is the most difficult for rookies to dominate compared to other North American sports.
The Jaguars had plenty of issues last year, including at QB, so any early chemistry issues for Jacksonville can definitely be attributed to these things.
I think Trevor Lawrence is slowly getting better with each outing. I think the short week will help him here.
Jacksonville is 0-3 after a 31-19 loss to Arizona last week, while the Bengals are off a 24-10 win over Pittsburgh.
Both teams have struggled this year with their offensive and defensive numbers. The Jags have averaged 17.7 PPG, while Joe Burrow and the Bengals are averaging 22.7.
Jacksonville has struggled defensively, but it catches a break here today facing this "on again, off again" Bengals offense.
I don't think the Jaguars go down without a fight today. The Bengals will have a couple of extra days off because of playing on Thursday night this week, before then hosting the Packers in Week 5.
Burrow and the Bengals are the better team, but not one that doesn't have plenty of issues itself. I think this contest will be competitive until the end.
Grab the points, the play is JACKSONVILLE.
Good luck, NP
