This is a 10* TOP THURSDAY TOTAL on the UNDER Marshall/App State.
I got down early and have a poor line, but regardless, I like the way this one sets up as more of a defensive "chess match," rather than a "run and gun shootout."
The Herd are now 2-1 after a poor 42-38 loss at home to East Carolina last week. Marshall allowed a total of 17 points over its first two games, before then falling apart against the Pirates.
The Herds offense though committed three costly turnovers which set up ECU deep in their territory.
App State is off a 44-10 win over Elon Saturday to improve to 2-1. QB Chase Brice had one passing TD and one rushing TD. The Phoenix are terrible defensively, so let's not read TOO much into the Mountaineers offensive numbers last week. Overall though App State is conceding just 18 PPG this season.
In fact, both teams are conceding less than 20 PPG this year. This is a big test for each side. In what I beleive will be a tight battle until the end, I look for this total to fall UNDER the posted number.
