10* AFTERNOON TOP TOTAL (LET'S SWEEP MONDAY!)
(MLB) Detroit vs. Pittsburgh,
Total: 8.50 | 101.00 Under
Result: Loss
Total: 8.50 | 101.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is a 10* AFTERNOON TOP TOTAL on the UNDER Tigers/Pirates.
Neither team will be in the playoffs. Each of these starting pitchers has struggled for the most part this year, but neither will be lacking for motivation today.
Detroit goes with Tarik Skubal, who is 8-12 with a 4.26 ERA. He most recently allowed two runs off three hits and a walk while striking out ten in an unfortunate no-decision to the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Skubal enters on top form and I look for him to dominate this "on again, off again" Pirates offense, as he has now allowed two runs or fewer in four straight starts (1.59 ERA). Over 128 innings he owns a sharp 144:43 K:BB.
Pittsburgh goes with Bryse Wilson (2-6, 4.61), who is off an outing to forget against the hard-hitting White Sox on Tuesday, allowing four runs over five innings.
Pittsburgh though has seen the total go UNDER the number in eight of its last ten after playing to five or more straight OVERS in a row (lost at Chicago 11-8 yesterday, losing all three games in the Windy City.)
I believe these starters battle deep and that's going to help in driving this total to UNDER the posted number.
Good luck, NP
