Total: 9.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 10* TOP AL TOTAL on the OVER Jays/Tigers.
The Jays lost two of three at home to the White Sox earlier in the week, and then dropped the opener of this one at Detroit by a score of 2-1. Toronto is in desperate need of victories now, as both the Yankees and Rays continue to win.
Detroit has played to seven straight UNDERS, but I think that trend changes here.
The Jays go with Alek Manoah, who is 5-2 with a 3.18 ERA. H emost recently allowed one run over six innings in a no-decision to the White Sox. The rookie has been sharp, but he's definitely been better at home than on the road (3-0, 1.85 ERA at home and 2-2 with a 4.81 ERA on the road.)
The home side counters with Jose Urena, who is 2-8 with a 6.19 ERA and who returns from injury to pitch two or three innings tops to open up this contest. Expect the Marlins poor bullpen to struggle as well here against this hungry Jays line-up.
The trends/numbers and the overall situation all point to the OVER as the correct call in this one.
Good luck, NP
