This is an 8* AL TOP TOTAL on the UNDER Twins/Red Sox.
Neither of these starting pitchers instills a lot of confidence. I still think this total is a little high though.
The visitors go with Griffin Jax, who is 3-1 with a 5.11 ERA. His last start was skipped over due to inclement weather. Previous to that he gave up four runs (two earned) with three strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision to the Indians.
Jax has seemingly turned the corner of late, as he's now allowed three or fewer earned runs in five straight starts, while posting a sharp 21:7 K:BB in that span.
The Red Sox go with Tanner Houck, who is 0-3 with a 3.12 ERA. The rookie appears to have a job in the rotation now for a while. He also has a respectable 1.15 WHIP and 11.9 K/9 over 34.2 innings of total work in the big leagues this year.
Minnesota dropped three straight in New York most recently, getting outscored 24-8.
I believe the Twins will also struggle to plate runs here today as well.
Look for these two young and hungry starting hurlers to garner most of the headlines in tomorrow's summaries.
The play is the UNDER.
Good luck, NP
