This is a 10* RUN-LINE BEST OF THE BEST on the Mariners.
Seattle scored a run in the bottom of the ninth last night and beat the Jays 3-2. I think we'll see a similar tight battle this evening, and because of that I'm going to lay what I feel to be a very reasonable price for the extra 1.5 runs in my back pocket.
At first glance, the starting pitching matchup looks even. Toronto goes with Hyun Jin Ryu, who is 11-5 with a 3.62 ERA. Seattle goes with Yusei Kikuchi, who is 7-6 with a 3.73 ERA.
Ryu is coming off a terrible start against the Red Sox though, allowing seven runs over three innings. Since the beginning of July he owns a 4.14 ERA. He has four good outings and three poor ones in that span.
Kikuchi enters off back-to-back strong outings. He most recently went five scoreless against the Yanks. Over his last four starts he's posted a tiny 2.86 ERA spanning 22 innings of work.
As I said off the top, the outright is obviously very possible. I do really like Kikuchi right now.
But I just can't turn down the RUN-LINE option at this price.
Good luck, NP
