This is a 10* TOP NL TOTAL on the OVER Rockies/Giants.
Yesterday's game between these two team's looked destined to fly well OVER the posted number of 7.5 yesterday, as it was 6-1 for the Giants by the end of the fourth innings.
However, that's the way the score remained for the rest of the contest.
While yesterday's game did stay UNDER in the end, in my opinion everything points to more of a "SLUG-FEST" on Friday.
The Rockies go with Austin Gomber, who is 9-6 with a 3.79 ERA. He went six scoreless against Miami in his last outing. Previous to that he allowed four runs in one inning in a loss to the Padres.
Overall Gomber's been great. But note, he's been great at home, not on the road. Going 5-1 with a 1.71 ERA at Coors Field, but just 4-5 with a 5.40 ERA on the road.
San Francisco counters with Anthony DeSclanfani, who is 10-5 with a 3.28 ERA. He returns from a short stint on the IL.
Since the All Star break, DeSclafani has posted a poor 6.63 ERA and 1.47 WHIP spanning 19 innings of work.
Finally, note that Colorado has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of its last 12 in trying to revenge a road loss against an opponent in which it was held scoreless.
This number is a little low, the play is the OVER.
Good luck, NP
