This is an 8* CUSTOMER APPRECIATION PLAY on the Phillies RUN-LINE.
The public is all over the Dodgers and Max Scherzer. Scherzer is likely better than Aaron Nola is right now, but Nola absolutely pitches better at home than on the road.
And the Phillies are also for sure playing their absolute best baseball of the entire season right now, entering having won eight in a row.
Scherzer's numbers are better than Nola's, but as I mentioned, Nola's uncanny ability to routinely be at his best in front of the home town crowd, negates Scherzer's advantages in my opinion.
More than anything, I think there's just tremendous value here in fading the public. And while I do also believe that sprinkling a little on the MONEY LINE is worth it, my official call in this one will be to lay the small price for the extra 1.5 runs of insurance.
